Is there a possibility to execute an equivalent of make user_project_example or make user_project_wrapper onboard the caravan ? We have been trying to perform this however without success although there exists a symilink to a Makefile in openlane foler which redirects to caravel/openlane, where one can find respective folders user_analog_project_wrapper and user_project_wrapper. In fact we are looking for a method to instantiate a "not so small" digital macro onboard caravan where we would like to interconnect it with our analog counterpart. The digital macro uses booth LA and WB bus so weould be a little bit painfull to route it manually. @Tim Edwards

@Krzysztof Herman the
openlane
directory of
caravel_user_project_analog
appears to be incomplete or incorrect. Can you clone
caravel_user_project
somewhere and copy the contents of the
openlane
directory to your
openlane
directory? You should be able rename
user_project_wrapper
to
user_analog_project_wrapper
and do your preliminary routing there. You probably want to route the critical analog signals by hand afterwards.

Hi @Mitch Bailey thank you for your response. In fact our analog part, in term of routing isn't a big issue, however we would like to explore the automation of this process. The painful part is how do we cope with routing between our digital macro which uses LA and WB. Actually we are exploring the options to do this part on caravel modifying config fixed scripts that should not be modified in order to get rid of PDN grid, power rings and get consistency between IP ports of caravel's user)project_wrapper and caravan's IO ports.
we will also checkout the option you suggest
