@User what would be the bottom plate vs top plate in sky130
for the mim cap
t
There are two MiM caps (for which I believe the naming is a minor mistake). The lower MiM cap bottom plate is metal3 and the top plate is capm (connected to metal4). The upper MiM cap bottom plate is metal4 and the top plate is capm2 (cap2m?) (connected to metal5).
The lower MiM cap device is "cap_mim_m3_1" and the upper MiM cap device is "cap_mim_m3_2" (which almost certainly should have been cap_mim_m3 and cap_mim_m4, but too late now).
This is a device, so you won't find it in a CDL file, but in the device models
skywater-pdk/libraries/sky130_fd_pr/latest/cells/cap_mim_m3/sky130_fd_pr__cap_mim_m3_1.model.spice
(and
_2.model.spice
).

ok, thanks

I saw that you had the answer in #analog-design. . . after I posted.

yes, I am trying to do the conversion for the LVS rule deck and there are a few mistakes (mimcap or res_high_po resistors). But I think I have found a way around, it is just not efficient enough

Hello, I can find the definition of cap_mim_m3_2 but I cannot find the definition of cap_mim_m3_1, there is only cap_mim_m3_base.

Yes, thank you!
It seems that both _1 and _2 have spice model, but I cannot find them in sky130_fd_pr.cdl

The only devices that have CDL netlists are ones which have unique foundry-approved layouts, such as the bipolars or 20V devices or RF-optimized FET layouts.
