Hello! I want to perform a transient noise simulation, the ngspice documentation establish that I have to use a
vsrc
configured with a
trnoise
functionality. Will this also turn on the noise in the transistors? or it only simulates the noise in the voltage source? Has anybody tried simulating something like this?
t
I have not used
trnoise
. Try posting in #xschem as a lot of ngspice questions get answered there. . .

I have not done this yet, but I am also attempting to.. The ngspice manual indicates that
trnoise
sims are still experimental--and it looks pretty barebones too. Page 292 of the most recent manual indicates: "The following questions are to be solved: .. how to generate noise from a transistor model" So it looks as though the
vsrc
with
trnoise
only generates noise itself at this point.
I'll be working on this a bit more and will post if I find a solution - or a better answer.

@Tim Edwards thank you I will try asking in #xschem
@Jared Marchant I have tested this and vsrc with trnoise does not enable the noise of the transistors. Although It can be configured to generate thermal and flicker noise, the transistors in my circuit operate as in regular transient simulation. @Jared Marchant thank you, let me know if somehow I can help you.

Possibly xyce might support trnoise? I'm not sure of the overall support for sky130 in xyce, but I know that they have been working on it.

Hi, I have this error with simulation of noise
