It's been quite a while without a tag / release and there has been quite a few improvement since then, so which branch is recommended nowadays ? Any release in sight ?

A newer rc3 tag should be on the master branch by mid next week. It addresses many of the issues seen in rc2 plus other optimizations related to timing closure.

Ok, great timing, I'm just coming back to sky130 after having been busy with some other time sensitive project, so I'll update everything when it comes out 🙂

We're currently waiting on regression runs to finish to confirm that the results match the benchmarks (which takes a while, but @Amr Gouhar can give a more accurate ETA on that), but yea, things got busy with other stuff related to the SoC release which took most of the time...

I'm just waiting on one final (big) design to finish the final test run locally, then I'm going to update the hd sheets on develop -> merge to staging -> submit a PR to master and let the CI tests take their course. So, it would be out by Monday the latest. (tomorrow if the CI tests didn't reveal any hidden flaws. Yeah, hopefully, tomorrow.)
