hi , i got some labels on POLY , but seems lef write is not writing these ports in the LEF file which are on POLY> Does lef have any limitations OR the understanding is that the LEF ports have to be in metal layers ??

Poly is defined as "masterslice" in the technology LEF file, which means that it is not considered a routing layer, and so cannot be a pin layer, either.
