Could I buy a test board and test chip to start learning how to use it? Have any extra chips lying around?

$40+$70 does not seem expensive for a sample. I've been getting ripped off by arduinos and raspberry pis and their accessories for years, so I actually expected it to be more XD

How much effort &amp; learning is required to get comfortable using the board? I imagine that 90% of the overall work for the tests is designing the chip to actually be testable...

Mostly it's just a matter of grabbing the `caravel_board` repository, which has all the information including python scripts for flash programming, example programs, board schematics, and instructions.
