Hello everyone.
Please I need recommendations and insights from you on a project I'm currently working on.
The project is a programmable gain amplifier for signal conditioning circuitry.

This is an high level description of my implementation idea. The ratio of the feedback and series resistors will give the close loop gain. The gain will be programmed through switches — the CMOS transmission gate switches.

In order to ensure high gain (since feedback kills gain) I designed the amplifier as an operational transconductance amplifier (OTA) which gave an open loop gain of >= 60dB (from simulation results). I used the open-source PDK tools for the simulation. Particularly I used the GlobalFoundries open PDK. So far simulation results are all good and okay.

Here is my request:
I want to upgrade this project. Is there a better way I can implement this programmable gain amplifier project? There is no issue with the current implementation, I just want to upgrade it.
Please your recommendation and insights will go a long way to help me improve my art of IC design.
Thank you very much, in advance.
