Hi all, I've been playing with magic and klayout for a while now and I see differences in the DRC results with the files provided. Klayout seems to be much more permissive than the rules supplied for magic. To further confuse things I've also found https://github.com/laurentc2/SKY130_for_KLayout which looks like it has a more complete set of rules than those provided for either magic or klayout. So, which set of rules should I use to stand the best chance of getting a layout that will actually work?

I have spent a few hours over the weekend really trying to design with the BJT/HBT models. But I am having little luck. The noise figure simulations seem to be fixed once non-ideal components are used. but I am still worried that it is a bad extrapolation that is causing the weird behavior. Once I realized the NF is believable (at least) I started designing matching circuits. At 60 GHz this needs to be distributed components. But I cannot seem to make the models work in ng-spice with S-parameter touchstone files. So, I would simulate using open EM, and generate a s2p file. But then the s-parameter sim in ng spice just bombs out on me. Has anyone designed with SnP files so far? Any advice? 🙂

Hello, i am trying to plot with internal waveform graph two signal in a transient simulation. I already do this things several time, but in this testbench is not working. The file is generated, i con plot the signal with terminal, but when i want to load .raw file appear... "raw_read(): failed to open file /home/roberto/.xschem/simulations/tb_schmitt_strigger.raw for reading". Hello all, I'm a beginner in using XSchem and NGspice and I was facing some troubles in simulating my first circuit which is a track and hold circuit. After I create the netlist successfully and try to simulate it I get a whole bunch of errors that I don't know the reasons behind them. I'll attach the circuit, the script for the clock voltage source, the ngspice commands and the errors window. If anyone can help me, I'll be very thankful.

Has anyone simulated transient noise in SW130? If so, how did the models behave? Were the sims accurate? Just about to start running transient noise so any info would be most appreciated. Txs

Hello all, I am trying to install Magic on CentOS. I pulled the latest version of magic from github and followed the instructions in the INSTALL file. The first command "./configure" worked well but I got stuck on the second "make" command. It seems that there're some multiple definitions. I also tried the "make install" and not surprisingly, it doesn't work. Does anyone know how to fix it? Please excuse me if this is something very simple. I am quite new to magic and Linux.
