I have integrated strace into openlane (see https://github.com/thesourcerer8/openlane ) and into the caravel Makefile (https://github.com/thesourcerer8/caravel-stdcelllib-stdcells/blob/release/openlane/Makefile) so you can now run "make strace" and it builds the user_proj_example and gives you the strace, for debugging openlane and openROAD
