Hi all, interesting discussion going on here! I have an interest in trying to implement analog / mixed signal / power conversion circuitry as well. I'm sure setting the bar pretty low will be necessary to make it in time for the first shuttle run. So I was thinking that trying to implement basic circuit blocks and learning how they behave on this process might be the way to go. Each of the subsystems just connected out to pins so they can be characterized and connected together externally if desired.
