@User I have been noticing a "weird" behavior while running the io_ports test on the caravel. By looking at waveform the counter values 1,2,3,4... don't end up on the io pads. Rather they start to end up on the io pads after lots of clock cycles when the counter is incremented to

. So the counter values 1,2,3,4,5... never end up on the pads. Is there some fixed number of clock cycles that it takes for the io pads to get initialized after which the counter values start showing up?
