@User: Command "tech unlock *" also works. Put that in the .magicrc file to make it unlock all the layers on startup. Part of the startup Tcl script hides the locked layers. I should probably just keep everything unlocked and then have a separate routine in the startup script and a button in the menu that will expand all layers in the icon bar or just show the common ones. The intention was to not present the user with a hundred layer types in the icon bar, but relating that to locked layers was probably not a good idea.
