@User: Any failure of magic to conform to Tk standards can be blamed on me. There was a reason for changing the tkcon console window background, although I don't remember off the top of my head what it was. The colormap and display styles could use an(other) overhaul; magic has an atypical way of drawing a layout one display style at a time rather than one layer at a time, which makes it a bit hard to mess with the display styles or the display style code without breaking everything. But it really needs to get over the hard-coded set of display styles and use something that can be dynamically modified.
