are 'R-type' devices (not subcircuits) with 2 terminals, while others are 3 terminal subcircuits (they include a body/substrate terminal).

test_res.sch

schematic contains the resistors and runs a trivial dc simulation, it seems to work. I only have some warnings about unknown parameters in parasitic diodes, this is however not an xschem issue. Thank you all for reporting issues and giving advice.
