@User: I had an idea once (a year or two ago) to rip most of the code for "vvp" from iverilog, and then replace the event queue in it with the xspice event queue in ngspice, which would then make it possible to pass any number of vvp files to ngspice like any other component. I never had time to work on it, but I still think the idea is sound.
