@User: What we're supporting is the "pad_a_esd_0" connection, which goes directly from pad to core through a 150 ohm resistor. Since they connect to the pad, they are also connected to everything else in the GPIO on the high-voltage side, which is to say, the ESD diodes, and the digital input and output buffers. The GPIO is configured as input only by default on startup, which means you can use the analog connection on start-up without needing to reconfigure the GPIO, although it's preferable to turn the input buffer off as well.
