@User: Actually I have a lot of complaints about things that were done to get openlane to route things, like making pins extra large and placing them far outside the core, and surrounding everything with giant rings for power and ground. So the answer to "do I have to..." is yes, if nothing is done about openlane's apparent inability to connect to a pin of minimum size, or pdngen's behavior in general. I am, however, not a person who is knowledgeable about pdngen. I would redirect the question to @User or @User.
