@Stefan Schippers is there a script in xschem that automates symbol creation, i.e., generate symbol view from sch view? I think this will save lots of time!

ipin.sym/opin.sym/iopin.sym

for I/O signals just press the '`a`' key or menu

Symbol->Create symbol from schematic

. It will create a symbol. The process is documented in this manual page, section '`Automatic symbol creation`'.
