I think its an enhancement from tool. If user using

pin_order.cfg

its compulsory to give all pins based on connections, otherwise go with automatic pin placement so tool will not throw an error.

Sorry, my question was not precise, I should NOT have listed the obvious error. The question is, why is this user_clock2 in the reference example for months, and all out of a sudden, it is removed. It is there in the wrapper.v, why remove it from example.v and the example's pin config ? Anybody out there who can answer the question, why user_clock2 is removed from the counter example ? It's rather trivial and updating pin-config is a no-brainer, I'm just curious if there is an issue with that clock and if I missed an update somewhere. That's all. Cheers, Tobias

@Tim Edwards something we discussed about user_clock2. Another user raised here for the same.

@Vijayan Krishnan: All I can say is that if it used to be working, then I haven't touched the design of the user project wrapper myself since maybe a year ago.
