Hi everyone, right now I am starting to design a board specifically to test my analog chip from MPW-5. I am thinking about using the Caravel breakout board as the starting point for my design. Since the mgmt core is not strictly required for my project. However, I am pretty new to board design. • What manufacturer do you use to print the boards? (Or do you have one you would recommend?) • For MPW-5 projects will we get the QFN or WCSP packages? Thanks for any suggestions!

1. I used JLCPCB. Others are pretty good too, just JLCPCB with shipping was the cheapest at the time + they have reasonable spacings for BGAs with big spacing. (Many US based had spacing/width rules that were too big for BGA chips. 2. FAQ states that it will be WCSP and QFN is only available to the ChipIgnite. Apply the design rules and try to route the WCSP chip with the spacing/width rules from manufacturer. If you are able to route it then you are fine with that particular technology. If you are unable to route it then (e.g. the spacing between the WCSP pins are noo narrow for one path + one via): 1. Check if the PCB manufacturer offers better spacing/width rule technologies (which typically cost extra) 2. If adding layers (4 layers vs 2 layers) makes it possible, then you can go with this. Choose the one that fits your needs.

oshpark
though you may have to add layers to get the tolerance, you will probably want the plane for a solid reference anyways

That's why I didn't recommend oshpark. The JLCPCB has the tolerance by default and it's cheaper.
