which i’ve read is due to an outdated version of caravel but my caravel said it’s definitely up o date. Is there another problem that could be causing this?

the only difference is that I manually updated magic

hmm yah I did this exact thing pretty much. I guess I can redo it just to try to eliminate any variables.

carefully check your environemt variables
you might have something set that screws things up

hmm why does it require magic to be 8.3.160?
especially since the docker uses it’s own version

because to build the pdk magic is used

oh okay but if we already have the pdk built then we should be okay

other people use the non-native version of pdk and that doesn't need it
yes as long as the pdk is the correct version
tool problems are often due to mismatches between various reps
repos

oh that would be great because that would explain the discrepancy between local precheck and the web version.
