I am taking a VLSI class that is doing a tapeout on sky130, so I think I will be actually working on a buck converter IC with a defined timeline now https://docs.google.com/document/d/1GMk5dvyJdYRGYMi88zNCIQ8mtFNiB_Kf4unADBAt7LQ/edit?usp=sharing

I will have a look at your document now
Feedback @Weston Braun: i would go for 6v input voltage range to be able to use usb power directly. (5v usb plus tollerance). I would go for a lower power supply current, max. 100mA. Its a good idea to place the compensation network outside of the chip. I would integrate the compensation network though onchip and make it selectable by a mux. The resistor and the capacitor seperately.

Thanks for the advice! 6V is a bit tough because the gate rating on all the switches only goes up to 5.5V.
Right now I am designing everything with the g5v0d10v5 fets though.

@Weston Braun 5.5v input voltage should be okay too. I would integrate a strong tvs to the input, so in case there comes an surge, the whole thing does not blow up.
