I was using 1.0.227 of open_pdks before and that gave no magic DRC erros; I can reproduce problem in 1.0.257. I did bisect the problem and the DRC errors seem to pop up from 1.0.243 to 1.0.244; e.g. no DRC errors with 1.0.243 of open_pdks and with errors for 1.0.244.

I will look at this when I can get to it, which will most likely be tomorrow.
I'm aware of the issue with layer names not being called out in the error message in magic for certain error types (Also pointed out by Philipp Gühring). I have a development plan to make that better, but I have not started working on the implementation yet.
