Guys, how do I change the wire width in Magic before I click to start a new connection? I only seem to be able to change it once I've done the left click using

wire width 2500

for example but it doesn't remember it for the next time i start a new wire

Magic will start a wire from whatever shape you click on, taking the size of the shape. So if I want to change to width 2500, say, I would just draw a 2500 x 2500 box, and click on that to start the wire. Also the scroll wheel can be used to increase or decrease the wire size (I didn't think to add some feedback to tell you what size the wire is, though).

That seems to work for most cases yes, but not when doing it from the wrapper pad frame stubs. Are they too wide or something?
