@User My guess is because google managed to convince them there was probably not much secrets left to protect in the PDK for a 130nm process and they could get more value by increasing the quality of the tool ecosystem.

Thanks, that's possible but wonderful. I'm working to develop NDA-free PDK using 0.6um or 1um, mainly for purpose of education and analogs, and was much surprised and encouraged to challenge torward 130nm.

Yes, I’m also much interested in minimalFab, and working together with them in some filed, especially EDA tools and PDK.

I'm replying to this thread late. I think it is fantastic that people are working on open PDKs! I'm a Distributed Systems/AI research scientists and electronics is my hobby .. as I hobbyist, I have kept hitting the wall in a full understanding of what goes between an HDL design and lithography. I really appreciate the hard work being done by passionate folks in the community to open things up .. so thank you!
