For open source purists, the recently open-sourced wrcad flow can be an alternative: https://github.com/wrcad/xictools. The interface uses gtk2 toolkit and there are already binaries for linux, mac and windows available at http://wrcad.com/xictools/index.html. What I understand is that wrcad has been marketed since 90s as a commercial tool flow for paying customers and has been recently open-sourced.

I've had some conversations with Steven Whiteley. There's a lot of good stuff there and worth looking into. There are several tool suites like WRCad and Electric that could be very useful if someone would demonstrate a working setup with Sky130.

I am not sure about Electric, about WRCad could be a more integrated flow compared to alternatives. I am personally working on creating a demo of Sky130 in Glade/RevEDA including device symbols, callbacks for layout dependent parasitics, and layout parametric cells.

I reached out to Steve Whiteley but didn't get a response. Not sure where he is. I invited him to join the skywater-pdk slack channel.
