10/14/2022, 9:18 PMI expect that somebody tried to recast the acronym at some point; i.e., "Station" referred to some specific hardware setup that they used (like a physical workstation), but they later migrated it to a more general-purpose solution they just declared that "S" stands for "System" rather than "Station". For the definitive answer, you'd need to find somebody older than me.
