@Tim Edwards when I put m2 layer on top of reram layer in magic it deletes the reram layer. Why is it so. And also the same happens when you put the m2contact layer.
t
@Talha Bin Azmat: Magic combines a number of layers together to make device layers, so the "reram" layer comprises the ReRAM layer itself, the contacts on top and bottom, and the metal surrounding the top contact. I cannot reproduce the problem with metal2 causing ReRAM to be erased. What version of the tech file do you have? The "m2c" layer necessarily erases "reram" because the contact is already part of the "reram" layer. "m2c" is a different kind of contact (it connects metal1 and metal2, rather than being the end terminals of a ReRAM device), so "m2c" and "reram" are mutually exclusive types.

@Tim Edwards So that means that I dont have to put via on the reram layer to connect it to the surrounding metal layers ?
t
In magic, no. You can infer the presence of the contact with
cif see VIA1
which will show the contact cut placement over/under the ReRAM layer.
cif see RERAM
will show you the ReRAM implant.

Thanks a lot @Tim Edwards
