I'm trying to work up a list of missing features/ tools in the open source ASIC EDA space. From the digital perspective, what are the most critical missing tools?

@Matthew Guthaus I made Fault as part of research project https://github.com/AUCOHL/Fault - an intern's currently working on integrating it with OpenLane

Are there currently any solutions to do power distribution planning and simulation of power distribution? If not, that will be a limiting factor for performance.

What about noise analysis?

1. Support for multiple clock domains 2. Support for mixed VT
m
They do support multiple clock domains, just not very well in OpenLane.

Simulation driven power analysis Like reading a vcd in opensta to annotate meaningfull activity before reporting power

@donn @mshalan I was looking at Fault and it specifically says it isn't for commercial use, but it is Apache licensed. That is going to be a problem... "SOFTWARE INCLUDED WITH FAULT DISTRIBUTIONS, I.E. ATALANTA AND PODEM, WHILE FREE TO DISTRIBUTE, ARE PROPRIETARY, AND MAY NOT BE USED FOR COMMERCIAL PURPOSES." https://github.com/AUCOHL/Fault#copyright--licensing
