@Islam Yes, there has been a discussion of issuing certificates of participation. The actual requirements have not been decided, AFAIK.

Correct, we have not yet decided; it is not a primary objective of this activity to hand out certificates.

I certainly appreciate your perspective on this. However, from the standpoint of a student pursuing a career in analog layout, participation in this event offers significant benefits. Not only will I gain valuable experience through the tasks involved in the chipathon, but demonstrating participation in such a respected community would be a valuable addition to my qualifications.In light of the above, I would be grateful if I could receive one.

We will need to define what "demonstrating participation" means. It won't be just signing up, but contributing meaningfully in some way.
