Hi everyone, and ik this is not a question related to the tools but more of a theory related question I need some help with. I was reading
this paper on using active mode resonant fin transistors to make an oscillator for mmWave frequencies. And there they have proposed the following schematic for their oscillator, and it says that the gain of the CS stage is square of( gm times R0) ; R0 is effectively the resistance tied to the drain of the mosfet at resonance. But from what I have studied it should be just gm times R0 and not its square. And afaik about the frequency response of a CS stage, its gain decreases with frequency....or is there some FinFET magic going on her that I don't know of? since this design was made in a proprietary 14nm FinFET process.
Thanks to those who took the time to read this and thanks in advance for any help/pointers regarding understanding this stuff.
