(i.e. the file normally known as

macro.cfg

). This information was determined by reading the source of manual_macro_place.py and comparing with other documentation about LEF/DEF orientation specifiers. To my knowledge, this information is correct -- I verified it by doing a test with OpenLane for all 8 orientations -- but feel free to challenge it if you think it's either wrong or difficult to understand.
