@Tim Edwards Is there a plan to have a caravan version of openframe?

It was written down in my notebook as one of the things to present at today's staff meeting, but today's staff meeting got canceled, so it will have to wait until next week. It is up towards the top of my list of things to get done, but depends a bit on convincing everyone that it is something we want to prioritize.

There are several options, including (1) a caravan-like openframe; (2) a scripted system that allows any GPIO around the padframe to be replaced with any of a handful of different pad types, or (3) making use of a completely undefined layout with an example showing how to define a caravel/caravan/openframe compatible padframe. All of the methods have various pros and cons.

2 and 3 sound most interesting to me. I was actually going to ask you if there might be a plan for 2 but it sounds like your already thinking about it

3 would be really cool

(3) is actually a use-case that we unofficially support. Both (2) and (3) depend mostly on having scripts to automate the work.
