Hello all, We have a test board designed for the old breakout board (with half vias), but we received the new M2 breakout board, and therefore we are looking for a way to adapt it, e.g. creating an interface board which connects to the old format (in the figure below) on the bottom and has the M2 connector on top. We are wondering: are there are any SMD connectors suited for the old format? In this way we can connect our interface board to the original board designed using these connector - we noticed half vias are expensive and we are looking for alternatives. Any help would be highly appreciated!

@Passant: Can you offer any insight on this?

@Jorge Marin I was planning to convert that to make it breadboard mountable to avoid any need for connection at all.
@Tim Edwards My team doesn’t have the capacity to do the that at that point. Anyway you guys could create the kicad file and I could fabricate the PCB?

@Amro Tork can you elaborate on the plan you mention?

@Jorge Marin I can. Give me few hours and I’ll get back to you.

@Jorge Marin I wanted to recreate the layout of the breakout board to make it look like this with the caravel chip connected directly to pins. My plan was to connect it directly to breadboard for testing purposes.
This would breakout to 56 pins making it easy to handle. Test separately, etc…
Unfortunately, I don’t have the capacity to get that done. I was going to start from the kicad file for original breakout board. If you’re students can take that work that would be great.
