Hi channel. Is my understanding correct that skywater doesn't support CMOS image sensors fabrication? In case I'm wrong, could it produce back-illuminated CIS as well?
s
I have also never heard it offers cmos sensors

I am interested in knowing the answer to this as well. I know magic can generate a photodiode for sky130. If it's possible to design an image sensor with sky130 I would love to know

in #analog-design I asked and one person said they've submitted Photodiode design to shuttle but it is not yet ready and nobody from skywater were able to tell what would be the characteristics of sensor. so more questions are appearing while digging but it is not a complete 'No' at least at this point of time.

the #imagesensors channel was just created too, if you find any interesting resources or learning material it would be cool if you could post it there!

Dear all, my PhD student (Mingzheng Duan) in collaboration with Prof Amine Bermak (my collaborator) at HKUST has successfully used standard 180nm CMOS foundry process of TSMC/UMC/Global Foundries to make the array of photodiodes integrated with readout circuit as the CMOS image sensor for detection of bacteria (optical biosensor). However, my lab has never used Skywater 130nm CMOS process. Ref: https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/abstract/document/9180738
