When will the Efabless MPW Precheck be updated? I started it overnight, but it's currently stuck at the OEB step because I'm using the foundry provided SRAM for GF180 and the version of Magic used for the precheck is smaller than v8.3.442. Locally the test passed, there I updated Magic manually for the Docker image.

@Leo Moser Everyone is working on sky130 chipignite shuttle which has a Nov 15th deadline. The gf shuttle changes might be after that.

I understand, but what a shame... My project would be ready now and I'd like to submit to get a better place in the lottery, but I can't. As I see it, it would only need someone to press "Merge" on this PR: https://github.com/efabless/mpw_precheck/pull/255 and then pull the new image in the Efabless MPW Precheck.

@Leo Moser The platform precheck should be up-to-date. Can you verify?

@Mitch Bailey I started a new precheck (0ce1e5e4-ff27-4041-84f4-d51b13e080d5), but it too gets stuck at the OEB step. It seems that the version of Magic used in the Efabless Precheck has not been updated:

I believe version 8.3.442 has the fix for the SRAMs, right?

@Leo Moser You are correct in that magic needs to be 8.3.442 or above. Is this the local precheck or the platform precheck?

Well, both are not working with the SRAM. Locally, I built the docker image myself with Magic 8.3.442, so this is no pressing issue. But I would like to submit my design for GF180 and I can't do that until the precheck on the platform goes through.

Yesterday’s meeting was cancelled. 😭 @Marwan Abbas @omla do you have an estimate on when the platform precheck magic version will be updated? The current version gets stuck in an infinite loop when running DRC on designs with sram modules, so they are blocked from submission.

@Mitch Bailey, I can’t definitively say. The closest we could possibly release an update would be next Wednesday the 29th. cc: @jeffdi

I wanted to ask if this issue can be considered for my submission date? I was hoping to submit my design earlier to have a better chance at the lottery, but this was not possible due to the version of magic used in the platform precheck. Would it be possible to consider November 9 as my submission date, as this is the date I first tried to submit my design but was unable to do so? I have not made any changes to my design since then. Locally the precheck passes.

@jeffdi Leo has finished his design and is waiting for the platform precheck to update the magic version so that drc will complete. The current platform magic version gets stuck in a loop when processing gf180 srams. Omla says that the next platform release won’t be before next Wednesday. Leo wants to know if you can set his submission date to November 9th to give him a better chance in the lottery.

I have run a new platform precheck, but it's still getting stuck at OEB 😕️ Presumably there will be no updates to the platform precheck over the weekend? Hopefully it will be updated next week, otherwise I won't be able to submit my design for tapeout at all...

Sorry, we reviewed the status of magic's latest revisions and approved it for a platform update, but we might not have actually told the platform maintainers to go do it. Your case has been discussed in our internal meetings. Everybody is aware of it.
