Hello, @Stefan Schippers I am wondering if there is a Xschem library for Xfab's XH018 process please? πŸ™‚
s
Currently not. I don't know if the XH018 PDK /spice model library is available to everyone or only under NDA. I don't know what is Xfab's position on open source silicon development. If they are interested i am more than happy to help to create a symbol library.

X-Fab allowed Efabless to publish a fair amount of information on the platform not under NDA. So it would be possible to make an xschem library (I made an xcircuit library for XH018) without an NDA.

Hi Stefan, thanks for getting back to me so quickly. It is under NDA, although Xfab is very forthcoming with their NDAs for anyone who asks. Its worth mentioning that @Tim Edwards has a magic PDK for XH018, and that the design rules and transistor parameters for XH018 are almost idential to TSMC 0.18 process, so a Schematic symbol library would be widely useful for developers. Xfab also have a PDK for K-layout available, so I am sure they would support a Schematic editor too

(The PDK for K-layout is very rudimentary and only really useful for viewing things.)

I need to resurrect the intern project I had from a few summers ago to input a liberty file (which contains the logical function of every gate in text format) and output a symbol library. Since xschem symbols are all text-driven, creating a library for any technology is just a matter of taking an existing symbol library with a sufficient number of gates, and then mapping the right names for the gates and pins.

That would obviously be amazing @Tim Edwards! I would be great if you had a whole team of people - the projects to open-source silicon seem absolutely endless!

Yes, it would be great if I had a whole team of people! Please tell my bosses that they should fund such a team right away!
