Stepping up our game - OpenROAD and VSD partner for a global 7nm Physical Design contest
Get ready to level up your game with "*The OpenROAD 7nm Physical Design Contest- Breaking the barriers of Open Source VLSI*" in collaboration with the
University of California, San Diego (UCSD) and
VLSI System Design (VSD). This is not just any other contest, it is one of the
most innovative design challenges using the advanced technology node of 7nm.
We thank
Prof. Andrew Kahng for leading the team towards building a complete
OpenROAD SoC design and implementation solution using the 7nm PDK from ASAP. We also want to extend a
big shout-out to Indira Iyer for trusting our team and providing all the resources we needed to launch this design contest.
Our past contests have seen over 20,000 engineers from around the world showcase their talents in semiconductor design contests and hackathons, leading to the creation of some of the most innovative products in both proprietary and open-source spaces. This is your chance to join us and make your mark in the world of semiconductor design.
Are you ready to unleash your creativity and skills in the physical design implementation on popular RISC-V-based cores using an OpenROAD flow and a VSD-powered cloud? This contest features interesting design challenges with unique opportunities for recognition, contribution, cash prizes, and certificates.
We're designing advanced nodes, and opening doors for all to experience it!
Using any of the following RISC-V cores from the OpenROAD-flow-scripts repository:
RISCV32i, ibex, swerv_wrapper, demonstrate the best achievable performance for the design for a given die size on
ASAP7. Use cloud resources, suitable design configurations, and tool changes (any or all of these) to meet this target.
But that's not all! We also challenge you to demonstrate the fastest Runtime from RTL-GDSII with the good area and performance. Use any of the following RISC-V cores from the OpenROAD flow-scripts repository and
get ready to level up your game!
Are you ready to be part of history with us? Register for the design contest using the link below (it's free!), and develop innovative solutions that will change the game. This is your chance to showcase your talents, improve your skills, and make a significant contribution to the world of semiconductor design.
