@User the reason is both user preferences and performance. For a really big schematic doing this check always after copying/moving things can have some performance impact. The other reason is that if you have long straight lines with many taps (see figure) you might want to keep the straight lines not broken down into pieces, so you can select/ copy taps without selecting the lanes. However the performance of the join/trim routine has recently been improved a lot (100+ times for super big schematics) I think it should be a good option to insert an 'Auto Join/trim' feature in the menu for those who want the feature to be active. Do you agree?
