If you look at the BSIM 4.8 documentation: http://ngspice.sourceforge.net/external-documents/models/BSIM480_Manual.pdf Page 127 and page 15. It relies heavily on NF not m. m affects ngspice as a repetition to the existing device. (edited)  And it seems that magic has the same extraction.
