There are a handful of promising tools such as WRCad, Electric, klayout, magic, etc., all of which have been hobbled in the past by not being able to be distributed with a real and valid PDK, and which have zero support from the foundries. The Google/SkyWater repository can change that. So all such tools should be revisited, as any of them could get a revitalization from being distributed with a working setup for the SkyWater sky130 PDK.
