Discord isn't really better, though. It inherits most of the archival and searchability problems from Slack, and loses threads. If some important or educationally valuable conversation happens in Discord, you won't be able to find it through Google, and although you won't have to pay to see it a couple months into the future, it probably won't be preserved a decade down the line.
