Just out of interest: Has anyone already tried the tools (bare metal or Docker Container) on an Apple silicon mac with Asahi Linux (https://asahilinux.org/)?
l
If the OpenLane/OpenROAD team has built a docker container for asahilinux then only you will be able to work. As far as I know, openlane/road docker container is available for ubuntu linux 18.04 and 20.04 for AMD64 and Intel64 processors.
I tried to run openlane on raspberry pi (ARM), it didn't run. It errored our stating that the openlane armhf docker container is not vailable.

Yes, I'm pretty sure it would work fine. At least our Docker container (https://github.com/hpretl/iic-osic-tools) with Openlane included is working fine on Apple Silicon Macs with Docker for Mac (which is just an Linux VM on the Mac in the background). I was just asking if anyone is already daily driving this 🙂
Our container works fine on a Raspberry Pi, btw. 🙂

would love to see asic fpga tools running on m1 silicon, then I would buy one ! :P
