The pdk that comes with volare is prebuilt with a specific openlane/magic/netgen version. If you're updating to a newer version of any of the programs, you might want to consider rebuilding your pdk

make pdk

. However, you're making a chip for efabless mpw, you probably want to go with the version they specify.
