Hey has anyone taped out Sky130 here purely based on open source eda tools?

Probably 99% of people who have taped out on SKY130 used purely the open source tools

… because using commercial tools mostly would mean using the related PDK, which in turn requires an NDA, which many people haven’t signed.

I have completed tapeout. All checks passed. Submitted to efabless website. Kept finger crossed to catch the open-MPW shuttle 6. 🤞😟

Thanks guys, the overwhelming opinion I’m getting is “it works, not fully efficient compared to commercial EDAs, but it works”

Comparing openlane with commercial tools would be difficult. I think 90% of the users of efabless/openlane/sky130nm wont be able to put together a flow with commercial tools to convert RTL into GDS. But openlane has everything - the flow, tools, user guides. I think 90% of the users will find it easy to tapeout in efabless/openlane/sky130nm platform.
