@User: Any chance of getting level 3 diode support in Xyce?

@User I’d have to look into it a bit. As far as I know, the level=3 is a proprietary model inside of Hspice. So, usually the answer in such cases is that it isn’t possible without a published open model. (Most modern MOSFET models are in the open domain, which is why we can support them). However, diodes are sometimes an exception. The “level=2” diode model is our attempt to reproduce the Pspice diode model, and that was just based on the equations that could be found int he manual.

It seems like the level=3 model in Hspice might just be geometrical extensions to the level=1. If that is the case, and the various geometrical formulas are written down somewhere, (or we can infer them) it might be possible.

That was the impression I got---and I think that's what Holger Vogt did when I asked if it could be done in ngspice. The geometrical formulas are implemented in ngspice, for one.

There may be a few additional parameters, but so far, I think all the use cases I've seen were using only level 1 parameters plus area and perimeter geometry.

@User sounds good, I’ll look into the level=3 diode
