Hello people :slightly_smiling_face:, Is it possible to perform thermal simulations with Xyce? Related to the dissipation of energy into heat

Do you mean thermal simulation as part of a electrical simulation, or by itself?  I ask b/c some compact transistor models are designed with self-heating and have external thermal nodes.

Broadly speaking, we didn’t write Xyce with thermal simulations in mind.  But, you can fake out pretty much any type of physics that you want, if you are creative enough.   For example, a number of people have used Xyce to simulate neurological systems.  See <https://www.osti.gov/servlets/purl/1096952> for example.

<@U03B029DKU5> Regarding thermal simulations with Xyce.  I came across this IEEE Transactions paper recently.  Ironically, the paper was published in April 2022, so around the time you asked this question.  Anyway, the authors of the paper combined Xyce with various python programs to create a thermal simulator.   <https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/9428622>
