04/20/2021, 3:01 PMxschem is agnostic about this, as is the SkyWater spec. Magic draws only a device over substrate, but I could easily extend the parameter set to include drawing nwell underneath.

04/20/2021, 4:50 PMOkay, done. Now you can specify either substrate or nwell under the poly resistor, and create a guard ring in the generated device for either one. Strictly speaking, there is no actual relationship between the voltage connected to the terminal and whether it is a well or substrate, although normally you would tie nwell to power and substrate to ground.
