Hello @Tim Edwards, Another question in a similar vein to Christof’s previous question. In the nmos cell generator, if the gate length is less than 0.28u, the generator only puts vias on the gates, alternating top/btm. Is there a way to force the generator to place vias (and I’m guessing this is due to DRC so perhaps “merge vias” is a better term) on the gates together so I can have easy wiring access to the gate on both sides like for a mos with a larger length? Thank you so much!

The quick answer is that without doing the work to add an extra option to the device generator to connect the gates together, the best thing you can do is just to hand-edit the cell, which you are allowed to do (it is not a read-only cell). The only caveat about hand-editing generated cells is that if you change a parameter in the device GUI and regenerate it, then your edits will be overwritten and lost.

Ok, good to know. Thank you
