Got the clocked "seconds_decoder" example to work finally... not sure exactly what I was doing wrong before, but in my reworked version I changed all the pin mappings to something less confusing/conflict prone (assigned FPGA IO 126 though 119, mapped to GPIO pins 25 through 33, skipping GPIO 29 as that's reserved for the prog_rst signal.)
